Our story
The Palante Dance Project is a school for salsa and Latin dance, founded by Evgeni and Lili in 2007. Translated from Spanish, Pa'lante means forward, which expresses the desire of its founders to keep pace with time and one step forward.
Evgeni and Lili have been dancing and teaching together since 2007, with their first international involvement as instructors and performers one month after their on-stage reunion. The first five years of the club's creation are extremely dynamic because they are related to the preparation and participation in salsa competitions and congresses in the country and abroad. Evgeni and Lili are t Salsa Champions of Bulgaria for 2008, the Vice-Champions of Bulgaria for the 2009 Cup of Bulgaria, the 4th of the European Championship in Rome 2009 and the semifinals of the World Cup in Athens, 2009, competing alongside Fernando Sosa, Adrian and Anita, Tanya Canars. The only representatives of Bulgaria to participate in the biggest salsa forum organized so far with a special guest, the star of Latin music, Mark Anthony, Todo Latino in Athens 2009.
In 2009, PaLante Dance Studio opens on 5 Balsha Street, which has welcomed those wishing to meet the world of salsa for 9 years. Evgeni and Lili start organizing special lessons, parties, field trips, festival groups and Latino concerts ... and PaLante's birthdays are traditionally one of the most elegant and cool events in the Bulgarian salsa community. Every year, Evgeni and Lili include something new and interesting to the audience: invitations from special guests and friends from all over the country, including salsa, bachata, kizomba, swing and tango artists, some of the best salsa stars and DJs from the international stage, live concert, photo wall, video and more.
PaLante KIDS is a children group , participating in the FANTA DANCE Festival from 2010 until 2015.
PaLante Dance Team a formation in which for 11 years the most enthusiastic and most enthusiastic salsaros have been preparing for participation in Bulgarian and international festivals.
Dancers who are or have been part of the PaLante Dance Team and PaLante KIDS can also be found in other salsa schools, as well as in festival scenes, which is indicative of the contribution of Evgeni and Lili and PaLante to the Bulgarian salsa community. These dancers are distinguished by their continued interest in and love for Latin music and Latin dance, which is something that Evgeni and Lili convey to everyone in the hall, from beginner to advanced.
The longstanding collaboration with Dani and Veli's SwinginMonkeys masters marks the beginning of SALSA & SWING Friends Weekends, during which Salsa vs Swing battles are held.
In 2017 PaLante Downtown opens, an ambitious project to revitalize one of the oldest sports halls in downtown Sofia and turn it into a modern and comfortable 200 square meter ballroom.
For all 13 years since its creation, Palante has organized more than 30 dance trips around the country, participated in more than 50 international festivals, organized some of the biggest parties in Sofia, as well as an international festival in Sofia.
The club's trademark is the open approach to teaching and the creation of a positive environment where everyone can find what they are looking for. Whether for pleasure and entertainment, or for professional development, or both, everyone is welcome if this concept resonates with them.
